Last Monday our license service was interrupted and some FDT customers were incorrectly notified that their subscription had expired. In response, a temporary license server was put in place so that anyone affected could continue to work. It’s very frustrating to be unexpectedly notified that your properly purchased FDT license is invalid. The FDT team apologizes both for the confusion and for any interruption in our customers’ workflow.
Our original license server is now back online and things are running smooth again.
There is still one last thing that affected customers will need to do: another reactivation by hand. It’s not much work, just a click on the button, but once this is done the expiration time for the license will be properly displayed in the license dialogue box. FDT will send out another pop-up to let you know when to do this.
What We’re Changing
To make sure that no one experiences another interruption, we’ve made some changes. Our backup server will now come online faster and will not interrupt anyone. We’ve also adjusted the response by our server so we can switch between the primary and secondary server with little interruption for our customers. If this happens again, no one will notice – and that’s how we want it.
Again, the team apologizes for the interruption in workflow and the frustration this has caused. Our customers are very important to us and we work hard to make sure we deliver the best experience we can.
