Hi together,

under MacOS there is a major problem with FDT, FCSH and CS3. The path to the "playerglobal.swc" contains whitespace, and the FCSH support from FDT does not permit whitespace in the path. In the result you can not compile a CS3 project with FDT out of the box.

This could be solved with the following steps:

1. Create a CS3 project.
2. the new project contains a link to the "playerglobal.swc" inside "Linked SWCs" ... delete the "playerglobal.swc".
3. Create an empty folder "lib" in your project.
4. Copy the file "playerglobal.swc" from "<CS3-Installation>/Configuration/Action Script 3.0/Classes/" to this new directory.
5. Right click on the file and select "Source Folder->Add To Classpath".

If you don't want to copy this file to every new project you can copy it to a directoy without spaces and add it as linked library to your projects. We are very sorry for theese issues and will work on it to make this workaround obsolete.

One additional point. You may ask "Why the hell FDT does not permit whitespace in pathes with FCSH? Flex Builder does permit and uses FCSH, too!"

The answere to this question is, that FCSH does not permit whitespace in the pathes. Flex Builder ships with the FlexSDK and can use the code directly while we have to communicate through the command line. This may change in the future as the FlexSDK will be open source, but as of now we may not deliver the FlexSDK with FDT.

Since I haven't been able to use my trial, can I get an extension? It's nearly expired :(
