Hi Folks,
today we released the new Beta Version of FDT, Version 3.1.0.0001. The following features are implemented in this version:
– Shipped Flex SDK (3.0.477)
– FDT Intro Contribution
– FDT Cheat Sheets
– AIR Debug Launcher as SWF Viewer
– AIR Release Launcher
– SWC Outline view
– QuickTrace (Ctrl+0/Command+0)
It is a free update for all our customers. For us, this is huge!! We are killing almost all difficulties that people had with the installation and setup-process and at the same time, are delivering a bigger AIR development support.
We are keen to get your feedback and hope this version will find your acknowledgment. Here you find your downloadable version:

[…] July 30, 2008 in Site News | Show Some Love | SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: “FDT 3.0 Now Standalone!”, url: “http://evolve.reintroducing.com/2008/07/30/news/fdt-30-now-standalone/” }); Those that know me and how I code know that I stand by and love coding in FDT. One thing about FDT is that you have to install Eclipse first and use FDT as a perspective (plug-in) in Eclipse. That is no more as FDT is now available as a standalone application. […]
Guys could we switch to the Forum with questions?
I don’t want to have two fronts
I couldnt set it up to work with AIR. What steps are involved?
Thanks
The PlugIn and the standalone will be released in the same version.
If you want to update your 3.0 version you need to setup the Beta Update site (http://fdt.powerflasher.com/update_beta/) in your Eclipse Update Manager.
But don’t forget, it’s beta!
Thank you fp

Big new release !! Thanks !! I download it now to test it
Great!
Some questions while I am downloading it.
– Is it stepping on Eclipse version 3.4 and if not, can we update it ourselves without issues?
– Can we update the SDK with a newer one without interfering the FDT execution?
– Are you going to need beta testers for 3.1?
Good news.
The development between the standalone version and the Eclipse plugin be parallel?
first return, the Alias auto-create into the Dock (mac X.4) has for name com.apple.dock.plist
