MXMLAutocompletion

FDT 3.5 Beta 2 introduces full Autocompletion support for the MXML Editor. Use your favorite shortcut CTRL + Space everywhere in the MXML Editor like in CDATA scripts, in quotes or curly braces of MXML tags to auto complete AS3 code.

The FDT Search now also finds search terms in your MXML files and will display them properly in the search view. In addition we have added wizards for creating Top Level Variables and Functions and a lot new Code Templates for Metadata Tags, Flex Lifecycle methods, Vector.<> and so forth. Take a look at the list of new features introduced in Beta 2 and Beta 1 here.

This is the last beta update before we will release the final version of FDT 3.5 currently planned for January.

Your support is highly appreciated. If you find any bugs or have any feature requests, please report them at bugs.powerflasher.com

Update FDT now to 3.5 Beta 2 or download the standalone Beta Version:

FDT 3.2 MXML Release-Party at 13 March 2009

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

Hi folks,

we talked a lot about it, you asked a lot about it, the topic feels like it´s creating buzz for more than a year already. And now, we are finally there:

The first of the two next MXML Release versions (3.2 and 3.3.) is gonna be revealed to the public at March, 13th! You now have a few options of how you can attend this:

First option (best):

We are throwing a party!! Location to be confirmed, but it´s likely happening in Cologne. Visit us, have a beer on us, and see what is inside. Chat with the developers of Powerflasher, meet the whole team and party with us into the MXML-FDT-ERA!!

Second option (second best):

If you can not be there, no worries, we will send our live stream into the world. A link will be published soon, so that you can drink your beer at home, but still be “with us”. Or you want to throw your own little release-party at this date with your friends. The first parties are already organised. Our guys in Singapore are already on board. If you want to party a little with us, let us know!!

Third option (still good):

update your FDT version from our beta site and just see what we have to offer…

Hope to see some of you on March, 13th!!

cheers,

Frank

MXML feature free for our customers

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Hi folks,

just to clear up the mist about our MXML feature and how we will release it:

The current status of FDT is version 3.1. With the first implementation for MXML we will release version 3.2, at first in beta status. This is likely going to happen in the beginning of march. In version 3.2 we will have a basic implementation of MXML in FDT. Which means you can implement MXML classes in your AS3-project, and will have basic feature support.

MXML in FDT

Shortly after 3.2 we will release 3.3, with a full MXML editor. We will then have advanced features for coding MXML classes as you are used to have in AS-classes. We are following this release plan because we want you to get only the finest software!

How will the three versions (Basic, Professional, Enterprise) differ? First: We will implement basic MXML support in all three versions. The Enterprise version, as usual, will contain the whole feature set of MXML support. And, all existing customers will get version 3.2 and 3.3 free of charge! So if you are thinking of buying FDT now, but you want to wait until MXML is out, you don´t have to, you will get it nonetheless!

We hope that we can satisfy you with this process, and are all looking forward to this new piece of software!!!

cheers,

frank

new year, new things from FDT

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Hi folks,

Happy New Year from the whole FDT Team, if it is still ok to say that at mid january!!!

2008 was a tremendous and crazy year for us, with lots of experiences, new FDT editions, tons of new features and we are proud to say, a huge step in the development of the best ActionScript Editor out there. But we do not stay still, we proceed.

2009 is going to be a very promising year with many sleepless nights, but also a brand new FDT feature we are all eagerly waiting for: MXML. With MXML, FDT will become THE solution for all people writing source code in the Flash and Flex World!! But there is more coming from the Powerflasher FDT Team:

We started our new FDT Training Center! You will get customized and standard trainings for AS3 and FDT. Furthermore, you can pass an exam and call yourself “FDT certified developer”.

We will launch “CIPHER”, the Obfuscator developed from Nicolas Cannasse and the FDT Team. Safety for Flash files!!!!

Our PDF Book enters the third dimension. Visualisation of Documents in 3D!!!

We will again come to your area!! Here are the events that we are supporting. We are looking forward to meet you there.

FITC Amsterdam
FOTB Miami
Roadshow New York City (contact us for appointments)
FITC Toronto
Flashforum Cologne
Web DU Sydney
Flash on Tap Boston
Flashbelt Minneapolis

Status of FDT 3.0 Enterprise

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

The enterprise version of FDT 3.0 dashes forward. We have implemented the most important refactorings such as “Move Type” or “Rename Method” and the debugger takes shape rapidly. We are increasing our support team and expect the enterprise version to be released in march when all testings are finished.

The first version will ship without extended MXML support which is planned to be implemented in Q2/Q3 2008.

To boost FDT with even more power we are looking for an additional FDT full time developer. In two words: Power Up! And if you want to become part of the team, send your application to jobs@powerflasher.de
