Today the Powerflasher team is releasing FDT 4.1 with new features and plenty of bug fixes.
FDT 4 was our biggest release yet and since then we’ve had great feedback from the community regarding bugs and feature requests. It’s important to the team that we make FDT great and every one’s participation in JIRA over the last few months has been the best yet.
We didn’t want 4.1 to be only about bug fixes. Stephanie, our lead developer, added in some great new features as well. The team had a few ideas for features and we also added suggestions from the community as well. We’ve added:

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR ENTERPRISE USERS

As a MAX / Enterprise customer I’m entitled to support. I’m surprised that after 2 support requests during the past 2 weeks and other 2 support requests within 6 months I’ve heard nothing at all.
Don’t write “We’ll get back to you within 48 hours” when you are not getting back at all.
With no support and refactoring not working I could as well have bought the Pro or Basic version instead.
“Metadata type autocompletion and more refactoring”
Could you give more information about this (must-have) feature, please.
Is it available for custom metadatas also ?

Thanks for your reply. My versions number is verified as 4.0.0.1189. (as seen in plugin details, FDT Core PlugIn).
It does not seem that update is possible. Have tried both automatic and manual update, both from the update site and the beta update site.
When I try manual update error messages are shown. Automatic updates says that there is nothing to update.
Do you have any ideas?

If FDT is telling you that there are no updates available then you may already have FDT 4.1. Check your welcome screen.
Oh, one other thing. When you download the installer package it is absolutely impossible to tell what version it is. The file is just called ‘FDTWindows.exe’.
How about including the version number in the filename? Like ‘FDTWindows41.exe’
I have FDT MAX 4.0 and wish to update to 4.1
FDT tells me, that there are no available updates. Do I have to download and install everything from scratch to get 4.1?
In the latter case, how do I get the file (not the trial version) ?

Even though my first language is English, I’ve been known to have errors in my spelling / grammer. I think it’s because I’ve written more in programming languages than in actual spoken languages 🙂
If only I had FDT’s live error checking and quick fixes for my blog posts / tutorials – then things like that wouldn’t happen.

There shouldn’t be any difference in compiling speed or projet setup. Try doing a ‘clean’ or compiler reset:

when i run the update all my projects in my flash explorer revert back to when i first installed 4.0
so any new projects made aren’t there anymore, same with run configs. anyone else get this problem? i’ll revert back to 4.0 for now
Congrats with the new release. I like how you keep improving your products. But, although a lot of the Java errors have been fixed, the build time is much longer in 4.1.is there something I can do to resolve this?
